Floating Support
The DASH Floating Support service aims to assist people to set up and/or to sustain their own tenancies and live independently.
The service provides short term (3-6 months) support, where DASH staff visit the service users in their homes and advise them on issues that could affect their tenancies.
The service does not cost the person receiving the support anything, is not a condition of tenancy and is available to anyone (who are generally over 21).
Referrals to the service can be made by Housing Officers, Social Services, Voluntary Agencies or the person themselves.
Our Floating Support service can include help with:
- Benefit applications and problems.
- Setting up utilities.
- Guidance around money management.
- Applying for Community Care Grants.
- Accessing furniture from charitable organisations.
- General safety advice e.g. how to operate domestic appliances correctly.
- Planning a budget.
- Making arrangements with creditors to repay debts.
- Signposting to specialised agencies.
- General liaising with anyone connected with the service user's tenancy.
Please note:
- Floating support hours are 9:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
- The service is limited to 6 spaces at any one time therefore a waiting list is in operation.
- All interaction will be in accordance with DASH Policies and Procedures where applicable.
- We reserve the right to refuse applications we feel not suitable for the support provided.
- We can withdraw our service if we feel the service user is not engaging or the floating support worker is at risk.
