Our impact Case studies Aiden - case study Aiden is 26 years old, he became a DASH resident in March 2018 after a period of sofa surfing and living temporarily with family and friends. Prior to this Aiden had lived with his partner in shared private accommodation but the relationship broke down and Aiden became homeless. At that time Aiden was working as a cleaner at Tesco but he is now on statutory sick pay having suffered from work related stress. Aiden found out about DASH having done an internet search with his father. Aiden says “my support worker helped me with claiming benefits and everything at the beginning, I was a bit apprehensive when my original support worker retired but my new Support Worker, Shaun, has kept things stable for me”. When Aiden’s current tenancy ends, he is hoping to move to another DASH property close to where he used to live in Peterlee. He has been applying for work there and hopes to live independently when he is more settled. “I’m more motivated now as I’ve got a girlfriend in Peterlee who lives with her parents and we are talking about getting a place together when I find work”. Update – Aiden successfully found employment with parcel delivery company DPD.
