George retires after 17 years

We feature George Coglan in this issue. George retired from DASH last month after 17 years of dedicated service. Our Chair, Madeleine Ashdown, looks back at his time with us and says farewell and thank you to George for all his conscientious work. She explains that “his cheerfulness and openness will be very much missed by staff and Board members alike”.

Our new website includes case studies and video interviews with some of our many residents. In this issue we feature former occupant, Leanne Smedley. Leanne tells her story from before she came to DASH up until the present time and explains how DASH, along with other key agencies, have helped her on the road to recovery. “DASH were the first agency to give me hope and the support workers were so helpful and caring”

DASH to move to new HQ

We were delighted to receive planning permission for the conversion of an empty pub in Gilesgate to new offices for DASH.  At present, DASH occupies rented offices in Dragonville. Madeleine Ashdown, DASH Chair, describes how the move to the newly named Hudson House will be a key step change in achieving long-term sustainability for the charity in an increasingly challenging financial climate.
