Last year, we bought the Last Orders pub in Gilesgate and the ground floor has now been converted to new offices for DASH in one half of the building and a space for meetings and possibly activities in the other half.

The first floor has been completely refurbished and is now being used as a starter flat let at affordable rents for young people.

We have left behind the single story industrial unit which we had rented on Dragonville Industrial Park for the last twelve years.

We took this step as part of our strategic plan to strengthen our economic position in the light of the threats to financial support facing housing charities today.

As a further move towards "future-proofing" our organisation, we are currently going through the registration process with the Homes and Communities Agency to become Registered Providers, a step which will enable us to access funding for future development, and help us forge links with housing providers throughout the North-East housing network.
