On the night of 30 April 2018, the Chair of DASH, Madeleine Ashdown, will be sleeping rough for the night to raise funds to fight local homelessness and poverty.

This amazing event is part of CEO Sleepout, a charity that challenges business leaders to sleep rough for a night to help make Durham a fairer place to live and work. The event takes place at Durham Cathedral and your support would be greatly appreciated.

Madeleine says; “I am Chair of Durham Action on Single Housing, a local charity providing housing and support for single homeless people throughout County Durham. At DASH, we believe that everyone, regardless of circumstances, should have a fundamental right to a place of shelter, and help to rebuild their life. We are living in uncertain times where financial support for homelessness services is under threat, and we are raising money to help secure the continuation of the valuable services that we offer for the future.

There's no known training for sleeping rough so I'm a little apprehensive about the experience, but your support will help to make it all worthwhile. I'm aiming to raise £1,000 on the night so your support would be very much appreciated.”
