News and events Events DASH sleep out at home In recent years Chief Executives and other business leaders, business owners, teams and staff from a variety of organisations nationally have been involved in the CEO Sleepout to raise money for homeless charities and charities supporting people in poverty. On Tuesday 30th April 2019, Durham’s big-hearted business and leadership community came together at Durham Cathedral for the second time, giving up their warm beds to raise awareness for people in Durham who are trapped in poverty and homelessness. The Durham Cathedral sleepers braved a cold night beneath the stars and raised an incredible £29,884 for local charities including DASH. This year the lockdown is preventing the CEO Sleepout from taking place and so on the 1st June, something awe-inspiring is happening for people trapped in poverty and who are homeless during the Covid-19 crisis. All across the country, families and individuals will give up their warm bed to sleep out at home, each person pledging to raise £100 to fight homelessness and poverty. In Co. Durham business leaders, CEOs, managers and teams will grab their sleeping bags, find somewhere to bunk down outside or inside their home, and ask friends and family to sponsor them. If everyone raises £100 each, a huge amount of good will be done to help vulnerable people in our communities. If you would like to support the efforts of our trustees involved in the DASH Sleepout at home please donate to a team member via the 'DASH sleep out at home' team page on JustGiving.
