Earlier this year DASH became a Registered Provider of Social Housing which means that, as well as providing accommodation and support for homeless people and people at risk of homelessness, we will also be providing mainstream affordable accommodation.

Being a Registered Provider of Social Housing will be an extension to the work the charity already does. This excellent, long established service will continue to be delivered and will be unaffected by the development of an affordable housing arm to the organisation.

We intend to develop a vacant site at Gort Place in Gilesgate to provide Four 2 bedroom houses. We have developed plans and applied for Planning permission to Durham County Council Planning Department. You can view the plans and make comments here; https://www.durham.gov.uk/article/8276/Find-a-planning-application

This is a long term project but when the properties are ready we will be advertising them through Durham County Council Key Options where both social rented and private rented accommodation is advertised.
